The Station at Shepherdstown is a 501(c)(3) organization, and welcomes new members and/or donations. Its mission is as follows:

"We will seek to provide, for the people of the Shepherdstown District, the best available space for community activities, one which has up-to-date, clean facilities and is responsive to community needs. Through use of this space and other activities we will promote the health of the Shepherdstown community, including its physical, mental, and social health emphasizing education and prevention, and will support the provision of preventive health services. In these efforts, we will strive to work as partners with other organizations. In the health services portion of the building we will provide space for the direct provision of health services by an independent provider or providers. In all these activities we will be financially self-sufficient."
